At FarmYo Limited, we aim to ensure a smooth and transparent process for both sellers (farmers and traders) and buyers (customers). This Delivery and Return Policy outlines the procedures, timelines, and conditions for product delivery, returns, and refunds.

1. Delivery Policy

a. Delivery Overview

FarmYo connects farmers and traders across Uganda and East Africa with global buyers. Each seller is responsible for packaging, shipping, and delivering their listed products to buyers through the preferred logistics partner. Delivery times and costs may vary depending on the:

  • Seller's location
  • Buyer's location
  • Type and quantity of product ordered
  • Chosen shipping or courier method

b. Order Processing

Once an order is confirmed and payment is made via our payment partner, the seller is notified to begin processing. Sellers are required to process and ship orders within 2–5 business days, unless otherwise stated on the product page. Buyers will receive tracking details (if available) once the order has been dispatched.

c. Delivery Timeframe

Estimated delivery timeframes will be displayed at checkout or communicated by the seller. International deliveries may take 7–21 business days, depending on the shipping destination, customs procedures, and logistics availability.

d. Delivery Confirmation

Buyers must confirm receipt of the product through their FarmYo account or by acknowledging delivery to the logistics partner. Once confirmed, payment is released to the seller.

2. Product Inspection

Upon delivery, buyers are encouraged to inspect their products immediately to ensure:

  • The item matches the description and specifications.
  • The item is not damaged or defective.

If any issue is identified, the buyer must report it within the first 48 hours after delivery through the FarmYo support system.

3. Return Policy

a. Eligibility for Return

A product is eligible for return if:

  • It was damaged during delivery.
  • It is defective or not as described on the platform.
  • The wrong product was delivered.

Returns will not be accepted for:

  • Perishable agricultural products that cannot be restocked (e.g., fresh produce).
  • Products damaged due to mishandling by the buyer.
  • Products purchased on final or clearance sale, where stated as non-returnable.

b. Return Process

  1. The buyer must submit a return request via their FarmYo account within 48 hours of receiving the product.
  2. The request should include: Order ID; reason for return; photo or video evidence of the issue.
  3. FarmYo will review the request and, if approved, guide the buyer through the return shipping process.
  4. The product must be returned unused, in its original packaging, and with all tags and documents intact.

c. Return Shipping

If the return is due to seller error (e.g., wrong or damaged item), the seller bears the return shipping cost. If the return is due to buyer preference (e.g., change of mind), the buyer bears the shipping cost.

4. Refund Policy

a. Refund Processing

Refunds are processed only after:

  • The returned item has been received and verified by the seller.
  • FarmYo has confirmed the validity of the claim.

Once approved: refunds are made via the original payment method. Processing may take 5–10 business days, depending on the payment provider and bank processing times.

b. Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Products damaged after delivery due to buyer's actions.
  • Incorrect information provided by the buyer (e.g., wrong address).
  • Subscription or listing fees paid by sellers to upload products on the platform.

5. Seller Responsibilities

All farmers and traders using FarmYo must:

  • Provide accurate product descriptions and images.
  • Ensure products meet quality and packaging standards.
  • Dispatch orders promptly and communicate shipping updates.

Failure to comply may result in account suspension or removal from the FarmYo platform.
